https://nation.africa/ KVDA rehabilitates water pans to mitigate effects of climate change and minimize conflicts As a way of mitigating effects of drought and climate change and minimize conflicts in the semi arid pastoral areas along the West Pokot and Turkana border point, the Government through Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) has embarked on rehabilitating a water pan at Cheparkule grazing land in Masol ward. For ages, peace has been a myth in the pastoral region due to persistent water shortage and limited pasture leading to inter-communal conflicts which at times, turn deadly.
