The late retired prime minister Raila Amollo Odinga made his final journey from Nairobi early Saturday morning, as his body was moved from Lee Funeral Home to the Jomo Kenyatta Embakasi Airbase. The casket was airlifted to Kisumu aboard a special Kenya Air Force passenger plane, which departed the airbase at exactly 6:30 a.m. Family members accompanied the body on the same aircraft with military officers on a separate aircraft, marking a solemn and historic moment in the nation’s farewell to one of its most influential leaders.
