Tonight, the Social Health Authority is facing a fresh legal challenge. A constitutional petition filed at the High Court in Kiambu is contesting the legality of SHA, digital health systems, and public officer medical schemes, with the petitioner arguing that the healthcare financing structures are operating outside the law.
The petitioner seeks a ruling that the schemes cannot perform insurance-related functions, including premium deductions and claims settlement, without express approval from Parliament.
