    A study conducted by the regional education learning initiative shows that only 43% of adolescents aged between 13 and 17 years can read, while out of those only 15% can read in English. The study conducted across 20 counties paints a worrying trend of low literacy and competency skills among adolescents. The study also found that only 5% of those sampled have any problem solving skills.
