Local contractors now claim they have not been paid a penny for undertaking a facelift of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre despite parliament allocation 1.94 billion shillings. The group claim they had been enlist to undertake renovation of the iconic building ahead of the 2023 Africa Climate summit but to date have not been paid and the money was to be remitted to China Wu Yi for onward transmission to their accounts. The contractors claim that China Wu Yi, has refused to pay them instead demanding full payment of 3.2 billion shillings from the government before releasing any funds.
