The Law Society of Kenya has strongly condemned what it termed the tragic murders of advocates Esther Wairimu Keige and Edward Muthee Kariuki.
LSK President Charles Kanjama described their deaths as an attack on the administration of justice, saying the incidents, which occurred just days apart, cannot be a coincidence.
Kanjama has also called for an audit of all contested land acquisition, leasing and alienation matters handled by the Kenya Forest Service legal department over the past 12 months to establish whether Advocate Esther Wairimu's death was linked to her official duties.
The advocates' body has called for a nationwide march this Friday in solidarity with their fallen colleagues.
