Mahojiano maalum na Naibu Katibu Mkuu wa UN (Sehemu ya 1)
Naibu katibu mkuu wa Umoja wa Matifa UN Jean- Pierre La Croix ametangaza kuwa UN imepewa mamlaka yote kusaidia kifedha kikosi cha SADC kwa ajili ya kudumisha amani na usalama mashariki mwa DRC. Alifahamisha hayo wakati wa ziara yake huko Kivu Kaskazini.
Akizungumuza na waandishi wa habari dakika chache baada ya kukutana na kamati ya usalama wa Mkoa wa Kivu Kaskazini inayosimamiwa na Gavana wa Kivu Kaskazini, Meja Jenerali Peter Cirimwami siku ya Alhamisi, Jean – Pierre la Croix amesema kwa sasa ni muhimu kwa DRC na MONUSCO kushirikiana, kwani Umoja wa Mataifa umepewa mamlaka ya kuwasaidia wanajeshi wa SADC kifedha na huduma nyingine kwa ajili ya kurejesha amani na usalama mashariki mwa Congo.
“Kwa sasa tumepewa mamlaka ya kusaidia SAMIDRC kupitia MONUSCO kupitia njia za kidiplomasia na kisiasa na kuunga mkono juhudi za SADC na kikanda. Tunaunga mkono hata hivyo usitishwaji wa mapigano ambao umepunguza ghasia licha ya kuwepo matatizo madogo , kuna mambo mengi ya kufanya na hatuwezi kusema kwamba pande husika zimeheshimu kikamilifu sitisho la mapigano,” La Croix alisema.
La Croix alitembelea mkoa wa Ituri ambako kumekuwa kukiripotiwa mauaji kila siku na kulazimisha wakazi kuhama vijiji vyao.
