Makueni’s County government has crafted an ambitious water development plan to address the perennial water shortage in the County. Through the Water and Sanitation department, the county government has prioritized last-mile connections as a solution to the long distances people walk to the nearest water point. At least 1,000 households per ward will be connected to clean and safe water under the last mile water infrastructure programme.
