A man from Meru has a project that seeks to recycle waste bottles reduce environmental degradation

    A young man in Timau Meru County has initiated a project that seeks to recycle waste bottles in a move to reduce environmental degradation. 21 year old Sammy Weru who is a friend of the environment occasionally collects bottles including plastic bottles from dumpsites and later uses them to decorate walls and floors. Sammy says so far he has managed to collect 10,000 bottles, even as he calls on the government to support his project. Occasionally Sammy Weru pays visits to various nearby dumpsites, these waste bottles that continue to threaten the environment he says can be put to good use...UPS...a visit to his home, one would come across this sort of art on walls and floors, he says it is decorative while at the same time saves the environment from getting choked with waste bottles...UPS...He has been doing this for the last two years. After sitting his KCSE in 2019, he could not further his education due financial challenges. But how did he come up with the idea? ...UPS..., being passionate about conserving the environment it wasn't hard for him to implement his idea, though his family was a bit hesitant at the beginning...UPSB2B...The various ways in which he recycles the bootles he says earns him a few coins whcih he hopes to invest even more...UPS... His call to the government however is that youth need to be supported in their start-up projects in order to enable them make a difference and feel appreciated as a bigger percentage continue to grapple with lack of employment opportunities.
