A 29-year-old man from Gati-iguru village in Gatanga constituency of Murang’a County is appealing for help from well-wishers to raise over Sh.2 million for kidney transplant after he has not been able to urinate for nine years and has been subjected to dialysis twice a week ever since.
Kennedy Muturo Karanja says that he never knew he had high blood pressure until when his kidneys failed working and doctors confirmed that he had been suffering from high blood pressure that was never noticed.
It was in 2015 when he was diagnosed with both kidney failure that saw the one time Mutumba seller stop his business that was doing well in Thika town and he was subjected to stay at home seeking treatment.
Ken’s best friend, Kevin Muigai, a bodaboda operator in the village narrates how they have conducted walks and fundraisers in search of funds to support Ken’s treatment but the little they get ends up in supporting Ken’s dialysis.
Muigai terms his ailing friend as aggressive and one with high hopes of getting healed once he gets a kidney transplant.
Ken’s younger brother Martin Karanja has volunteered to donate one of his kidney’s to Ken but the family is very needy that it cannot afford the transplant fee that is above Sh.2 million.
Ken is now appealing to well-wishers to help him raise the required money through his mobile number 0722997318 or PAYBILL NUMBER 247247 ACCOUNT NUMBER 616363.
