There was drama at the Machakos law court on Wednesday, when a County Assembly Member suffered a broken leg, at the hand of officers from the county inspectorate who were trying to effect his arrest. Kalama Ward MCA Boniface Maeke had gone to the Machakos court in solidarity with his counterpart when FIVE county inspectorate officers allegedly attempted to arrest him unlawfully. witnesses say the MCA resisted arrest and demanded to know why he was being apprehended, prompting the officers to use excessive force, which caused the MCA to break his leg. He was escorted to the Machakos police station, where he recorded a statement and WAS later rushed to hospital.
