The Ministry of Health has launched investigations after rejecting claims worth 10.6 billion shillings submitted by ten health facilities, due to fraudulent activities and noncompliance. Other claims worth 3 billion shillings are being re-evaluated due to lost documentation, and others worth 2.1 billion shillings are under surveillance for further investigations. Health Cabinet Secretary Adan Dualle says 728 health facilities have been closed down for non-compliance, 301 facilities downgraded by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council and 45 facilities are set to be degazetted for fraudulent activities.
