Moi University has declared over 800 employees redudant

The University’s Academic Staff Union (UASU) has moved to court, seeking an order to halt the ongoing mass layoffs at Moi University, which could affect nearly 900 employees. The union is asking the labor and employment court to issue a certificate of urgency, accusing the university of ignoring a previous court order that required both sides to hold consultations in good faith before any restructuring.
