Several gas refilling stations that operate without valid licenses in Mombasa County have been shut down following a crackdown conducted by a multi-agency team led by the county government. Most of the gas refilling plants had no genuine licenses and operated in residential areas. The move comes barely a week after an LPG gas plant in Nairobi’s Embakasi area exploded killing seven and injuring dozens.
