Moto, milipuko yamulika angani kaskazini Israel Hezbollah iliposhambulia
Majeshi ya Israeli yamefanya mashambulizi ya angani Jumatano kusini mwa Lebanon katika mashambulizi ya hivi karibuni yanayolenga wanamgambo wa Hezbollah wakati kikundi cha Hezbollah cha Lebanon kilipoishambulia Julai 15 kwa makombora ambayo mifumo ya ulinzi wa anga ya Israel iliyatungua katika mji wa Kiryat Shmona.
Jeshi la Israel lilisema mashambulizi yake yalilenga miundombinu ya Hezbollah, na kwamba majeshi ya Israeli pia yalitumia makombora kujibu vitisho vya Hezbollah katika eneo hilo.
Hezbollah ilifyatua makombora kuelekea Israel, huku jeshi la Israeli likisema limezuia baadhi ya makombora hayo wakati mengine yalianguka katika eneo la wazi bila ya kuleta uharibifu au vifo.
Kiongozi wa Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah alisema wakati akitoa hotuba Jumatano kuwa kikundi cha wanamgambo hao watalenga maeneo mapya ndani ya Israel iwapo majeshi ya Israeli yataendelea kuua raia.
Shambulizi lililofanywa na Israeli Jumanne liliuua raia watano wa Syria huko kusini mwa Lebanon.
Mapigano ya mpakani kati ya Israel na Hezbollah yameongeza wasiwasi kuhusu mgogoro mkubwa zaidi kuzuka katika kanda hiyo huku majeshi ya Israeli yakiwa pia yanapigana na Hamas ndani ya Ukanda wa Gaza.
Waziri wa Ulinzi wa Marekani Lloyd Austin na Waziri wa Ulinzi wa Israeli Yoav Gallant walijadili mapigano yanayo endelea kati ya Israel na Hezbollah wakati wa mazungumzo waliofanya kwa njia ya simu Jumanne, Wizara ya Ulinzi ya Marekani ilieleza.
Msemaji wa Pentagon Major General Pat Ryder alisema katika taarifa yake kuwa mawaziri hao wa ulinzi pia walizungumzia kuhusu kivuko cha muda kilichojengwa na Marekani katika pwani ya Gaza ili kuwezesha misaada ya kibinadamu kuwafikia raia wa Palestina. -AFP, Reuters
