The National Assembly education committee now wants the national Treasury to avail at least the 4.3billion shillings required to resolve the lecturers' strike. The MPs engaged the university academic staff union and the Inter-Public Universities Councils Consultative Forum and observed the Treasury was yet to commit to funding the collective bargaining agreement. The education committee is set to invite the principal secretary of higher education next week over the matter.
