Murkomen: Police fuel requests, not corruption, chiefs to be armed in Mandera

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has once again defended police officers’ request for fuel support, insisting it is not corruption but a service necessity. Speaking during the Jukwaa la Usalama Security Forum in Mandera, Murkomen said he will continue to highlight the challenges police officers face as they work to protect the public. The CS also announced plans to arm chiefs in Mandera and provide them with specialized military training in response to frequent Al Shabaab attacks in the border county.
