The Communications Authority of Kenya has suspended a directive banning all television and radio stations from broadcasting demonstrations live. The Authority notifying the public of the suspension in keeping with orders issued by Justice John Chigiti on Wednesday, following a judicial review motion filed by the Katiba Institute and the Kenya Human Rights Commission. Katiba, KHRC and the Law Society of Kenya, in separate motions, also secured orders for the restoration of the signal of stations deplatformed as a result of CA's directive. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has however stated that President William Ruto's administration will be guided by national security and not court orders.
