Police have denied claims that there have been increased cases of muggings and robbery with violence in the Nairobi. Nairobi regional commander James Mugera says reported cases of crime have in fact gone done in the last couple of months, terming the reports on mugging in the city as sensational. Mugera says only 9 cases of robbery with violence were reported between the months of September and October. And as Mary Muoki reports, the denial by police comes amidst rising cases of insecurity not just in Nairobi but also in other major cities.
