The national Assembly is seeking to amend the Public Audit Act 2015 to align it with the constitution following a declaration by the High Court that termed some sections of the law unconstitutional. The Public Audit Bill 2024 sponsored by the government further seek to seal the undesirable 3 months vacuum between when the Auditor General retires and when a successor is in office.
