MPs have directed the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, to hand over the Human Resource function, specifically the Payroll system, to their employer, the National Police Service Commission, for auditing purposes. The IG who appeared before the National Assembly Public Accounts Committee was hard pressed to explain his reservations on allowing the commission to access the system. Kanja was forced to eat humble pie as MPs faulted him for declining to provide access to the Peter Lelei-led Commission.
