Automobile Warehouse in Nakuru City has introduced a new forage harvester to boost food production in Kenya. The machine was showcased at Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) during the open week exhibition at Food Crops Research Centre Njoro, Nakuru County.
Faran Saleh, a senior sales executive at Automobile Warehouse Ltd said the machine from Turkey is used to crash silage. It uses a hydraulic system and moves 360 degrees. It produces 20-25 tonnes per hour.
The company has a Zetor tractor which is fully loaded and uses 5 liters of diesel per five acres. Nicholas Mutuma a sales executive at Automobile said the company has other machines like cultivator, power harrow, and booms sprayer to help farmers increase food production.
