The Federation of Kenyan Employers is this evening calling for further consultations before new NSSF rates contained in a new law are implemented. FKE is calling for clarification of some of the provisions while warning that raising NSSF contributions has the risk of adversely affecting the economic abilities of both the employers and employees. The NSSF board of trustees had intended to begin implementation of the new rates starting next month, which may now have to wait for longer should they yield to the FKE demands.
