The National Health Insurance Fund management has shifted blame to government-based health facilities for failing to update and communicate on time on the claims needed to be paid. This comes as NHIFbosses revealed that a total of ksh 8.5 billion will be released to pay some of the outstanding claims. However, the National Assembly Health Committee has called for the set to be disbanded to increase the payment of claims to government facilities from 20% to 30%. NHIF leadership has vowed that the majority of verifiable claims will be paid before the social health insurance fund takes effect on the 1st of July.
