Thousands of residents living on the disputed 34-acre stretch along Ngong Road Forest can breathe a sigh of relief after Environment Cabinet Secretary Deborah Barasa assured the Senate that no evictions will take place at least for now. Appearing before the Senate Committee on Land, CS Barasa said the government will hold off any action until a formal Cabinet decision is reached, following heightened fears over looming evictions triggered by earlier threats from the Kenya Forest Service (KFS).
