Police constable Jackson Konga has been sentenced to thirty years in prison for the murder of his colleague, Christopher Kimeli at the K9 unit, Nakuru, two years ago. The judgment was delivered earlier today by High Court judge Julius Nangea. Konga was charged with fatally shooting Kimeli on the morning of August 8th, 2023. According to the prosecution, the two officers had a dispute over the handling of two suspects who had been arrested. Constable Konga opened fire, killing Officer Kimeli. The family of the late Christopher Kimeli has expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision.
