Ogiek Community raises issue over intruders

    Ogiek Community is now accusing the government of deploying illegal tactics to lock them out of their ancestral home in the Mau Forest Complex. The community leaders drawn from six counties claimed that the government was hurriedly validating the settlement of thousands of people in Kapsita, Ngongogeri, Likia, Sururu, Saino, Kiptagich, Ndoinet and Tinet among other areas whose titles were revoked by the famous Paul Ndung'u land report. Ogiek Council of Elders chairperson, John Lobolo said this was among government attempts to avoid compliance with two judgments of the African Court of People's and Human Rights in Arusha.
