One person killed and several houses torched in yet another terror attack in Lamu

One person has been killed and seven homes torched after terror suspects raided Widhu area in Lamu county. The terrorists are reported to have attacked the area around 2 am on Wednesday killing the security guard of Majembeni primary school before setting the houses ablaze. While condemning the attacks in the region Interior Cabinet Secretary Professor Kithure Kindiki who is on a tour of tana river county has said that the government will deploy special forces and elite units to northern Kenya and upper coastal regions including tana river and Lamu to deal with the threat of terrorism and violent extremism. Kindiki has further added that the government will continue to equip security officers with modern weapons and technology to counter criminals who have led to loss of lives and livelihoods in the regions.
