Over 22 protesters arrested in Githurai 45 as police restore order after fuel protest chaos

More than 22 protesters were arrested on Tuesday in Githurai 45, Kiambu County for engaging in unlawful activities on the second day of fuel hike demonstrations. The rowdy youths, who engaged police in running battles, barricaded the Thika Superhighway with stones, extorting innocent motorists and even robbing pedestrians walking to work. The operation conducted by uniformed officers and those in plain clothes restored order in the area and reopened the road, which had been disrupted for two days.
