Tenants in estates managed by Nairobi County government and who have defaulted on rent are now living in fear after the county embarked on an exercise to recover rent arrears. This week the county evicted rent defaulters in Jamhuri, Kariokor and Woodley with the same exercise expected to take place in ngara, Kariobangi, and jericho next week. The affected residents some of who have moved to court to stop the process have called on Governor Johnson Sakaja to give them a grace period to settle arrears due to the harsh economic times.
