The rejected finance bill 2024 will formulate part of the agenda as the national assembly resumes sittings on Tuesday. According to the speaker of the national assembly, Moses Wetangula, any member seeking to overturn a clause of the finance bill following President Ruto’s rejection through a memorandum must get the nod of two-thirds of the house when consideration begins in the week. At the same time, Wetangula has denied claims that the bill would have been law, 14 days after rejection by the President. Wetangula has been given a 7-day ultimatum to allow journalists to operate within the precincts of parliament or face court action from Busia senator Okiya Omtata.
