7,000 families affected by human wildlife conflict are set to receive compensation of 3 billion shillings in the next two months. This follows a directive by President William Ruto during the launch of a compensation scheme for damages arising from human-wildlife conflict in Rumuruti Laikipia county. Additionally the head of state announced plans are underway to erect a 350 kilometer long electric fence around national parks and game reserves in six counties to tame incidences of human wildlife conflict.
