Police in Garissa are investigating an incident where 12 Somali nationals without valid identification documents were nabbed in a county government land cruiser bearing a GK number plate. The foreigners were arrested at the Garissa Tana Bridge when the officers manning the barrier demanded the work ticket of the vehicle only to discover the registration was different from that on the work ticket. Garissa Sub County Police Commander Joseph Muriuki said they sought the intervention of NTSA and found out that the vehicle was registered under the ministry of Urban Development of the county government. Police who are investigating the destination of the foreigners and the people behind the racket say the illicit trade could have been going on for some time.
