Police arrest two suspects over death of Samson Kahuria

Police in Mirangine, Nyandarua county, have arrested two suspects, in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Samson Kahuria from Ramana village in the county. Kahuria’s family says he died after being tortured inside a house in Gwa Kiongo township last Friday, where he had been accused of stealing two pairs of trousers. According to them, he was stripped naked and forced to walk through a thicket of stinging nettles, before he was found and rushed to the JM Kariuki hospital in Olkalou, where he died. Earlier, residents held a peaceful protest demanding more arrests. Police say investigations are ongoing.
