In July this year, Our Senior Crime and Investigative Reporter, Ngina Kirori, brought you a three-part investigative series, Camouflaged Crimes, shedding light on the sufferings faced by communities in Laikipia and Samburu counties on account of the activities of the British Army Training Unit in Kenya, BATUK. Her investigation highlighted the tragic loss of life caused by unexploded bombs left in public areas. As a result of her reporting, the Foreign Relations and Defense Committee in Parliament launched an unprecedented investigation into BATUK’s activities. Ngina's work also earned her the Best Investigative Story (TV) award at the 2024 Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA). Listen in to how her story made a significant impact on society
