You will soon be able to buy a locally made smartphone at affordable cost. That's according to President William Ruto who announced that the government is working on a plan to have locally manufactured mobile phones which will cost less than 5,000 shillings in the next one year. This, he says will see Kenya boast of making the cheapest smartphones in Africa, coinciding with the government's plan of leveraging technology to make it efficient and effective.
