In an effort to mend fences with part of his electoral base, President William Ruto met a section of evangelical leaders at State House, Nairobi, amid growing tensions with religious organizations. The president defended his decision to build a church in the state house, a statement backed by the team that visited the state house, calling the other churches that opposed the church construction "anti-Christ."
