The office of the attorney general will now be able to recruit and promote its staff and will no longer rely on the Public Service Commission. This is after President William Ruto assented to the statute laws miscellaneous amendment bill that establishes an advisory board in the office of attorney general that will address the lack of personnel and poor terms of employment for state counsels. Through the law, the president has also changed the 10th October holiday from Utamaduni Day to Mazingira Day, a day for all Kenyans to participate in environment conservation activities.
