President William Ruto has vowed to decisively deal with the perennial challenges that have for years bedevilled the country’s sugar sector. The president said the government-owned sugar millers have been bailed out by the government to the tune of 117 billion shillings of their debts and statutory deductions. Ruto also revealed that Sh 1.7 billion owed to farmers has been released, and that all farmers' debts shall be cleared in the next two months.
