- President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured security chiefs of continued government backing especially in the run-up to the forthcoming elections. The president thanked the security chiefs for ensuring sustained peace in the country, President Kenyatta was speaking at a meeting with senior internal security officials from the national government administration office and the national police service at state house Nairobi. The meeting comes in the wake of terror alerts issued by France, Germany and the United States warning of possible terror attacks targeting foreigners in Nairobi.
