The government has declared Friday the 1st of November 2024 a public holiday setting the stage for the swearing-in ceremony of Deputy President elect Kithure Kindiki. In a gazette notice signed by Musalia Mudavadi, who has been appointed as the Acting Interior Cabinet secretary, Mudavadi says this is in line with the public holidays act and the assumption of office of the President Act. This comes barely hours after a three judge bench declined to extend conservatory orders blocking the swearing in of Professor Kithure Kindiki. John Kahiro with the details.
