Politicians who lost in the august general election, top technocrats and national security operatives are among persons in the scramble for principal secretary jobs. More than 9,000 applications were received by the public service commission for 50 principal secretary jobs, with nearly all current occupants of the slots seeking a fresh term in President William Ruto’s administration. And as Francis Gachuri reports, the list of applicants has been distilled from 9,154 to 477, with interviews scheduled next week to further slash the list that will be submitted to the president for nomination.
