PSV operators across the country down their tools

Commuter services in different parts of the country remained paralyzed for the better part of Wednesday, after matatu operators withdrew their vehicles from the roads, in opposition against the Ministry of Transport's proposals to have drivers re-tested to ensure their suitability on the road. Their withdrawal forced commuters to seek alternative means to commute, most of whom were forced to treck long distances before they could access alternative means. This comes even as long-distance truck drivers who joined the matatu strike, insist they will not suspend their strike until their grievances are addressed
