Rais Putin na Prince Salman watoa wito kwa wanachama wa OPEC+ kupunguza uzalishaji mafuta
Rais wa Russia Vladimir Putin na Mwanamfalme wa Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman wametoa wito Alhamisi kwa wanachama wote wa OPEC+ kujiunga na makubaliano ya kupunguza uzalishaji mafuta, wakisema ni kwa faida ya wazalishaji na uchumi mpana wa kimataifa.
Putin alifanya mkutano wa dharura mjini Riyadh na mwanamfalme wa Saudia siku ya Jumatano baada ya ahadi ya OPEC+, ambayo ni Jumuiya ya Nchi zinazouza Nje Petroli (OPEC) na washirika wakiongozwa na Russia, kupunguza pato zaidi.
Saa chache baada ya mazungumzo ya ana kwa ana ya Putin na mwanamfalme wa Saudia anayejulikana kwa jina la MbS, Ikulu ya Kremlin ilitoa taarifa ya pamoja ikielezea kwa kina mazungumzo kati yao kuhusu mafuta, OPEC+, vita vya Gaza na Ukraine na hata mpango wa nyuklia wa Iran.
Taarifa ya Kremlin aidha ilieleza kuwa pande hizo mbili zilipongeza ushirikiano wa karibu kati yao na juhudi zilizofanikiwa za nchi za OPEC+ katika kuimarisha uthabiti wa soko la mafuta duniani.
Saudi Arabia na Urusi ndio wauzaji wakubwa wa mafuta duniani.
