More than a year after the devastating Mai Mahiu dam tragedy, which left hundreds displaced and in despair, 18 affected families have been resettled by well-wishers. The families were handed two-bedroomed houses built through a partnership between Rotary International and the Scann Foundation. Speaking during the handover ceremony, Job Okello, the Rotary regional coordinator in Nakuru, described the journey as long and challenging, citing numerous setbacks from government agencies. He, however, affirmed their continued commitment to mobilise more support to assist the remaining families still enduring harsh conditions.
