The humanitarian crisis in Nyando is escalating after more than three hundred families from two submerged villages sought refuge at the Ombaka primary school. About 30 people were forced to share one classroom which would ordinarily host about 15 people. Affected residents are calling for the setting up of more evacuation camps in order to ease pressure on the existing infrastructure.
