The change in the KCSE grading system where compulsory subjects were reduced from five to two has seen county schools post exemplary results, increasing the number of entries into the university from the schools. In Kisii county, the little-known Rigena mixed secondary school posted a mean score of 9.5. with over 150 candidates attaining university entry marks. Other extra county schools including Mbooni Boys in Makueni county and Orero boys in Homa Bay continued to shine in the just released results, attributing their exemplary performance to the hard work of the students and the dedication of teachers.
