Leaders from the western region of Kenya continue to emphasize the unity of the Luhya community, saying that it is through their unity that they will be able to have a say in national politics and stimulate development in the area. Speaking at a CDF bursary launch event in Cherengany, the leaders, led by national assembly speaker Moses Wetangula, indicated that the western region has lagged behind in development due to a lack of unity. Additionally, they urged leaders in the area to stop engaging in divisive politics and insults at various events, and instead seek a consensus on development politics.
