A section of youth in Siaya County held peaceful demonstrations decrying what they termed as misappropriation of funds by the County government. The youth marched across the streets of Siaya town, demanding an audience with Siaya governor James Orengo. They allege that the County has also been engaging retirees at the expense of youth who remain unemployed. The group said it will not relent until their voice is heard, saying that there have been attempts to disrupt their protests by goons.
