Senate probes Governor Mutai’s impeachment over contested e-vote

Embattled Kericho Governor Dr. Eric Mutai and the Kericho County MCAs locked horns today in parliament as the impeachment proceedings against the governor entered day two in the Senate. While the governor maintains the digital voting platform by the county was faulty, the MCAS stuck to their guns, maintaining the governor had to go, for allegedly mismanaging the county resources. Senate speaker Amason Kingi has sought help from the ICT authority to audit the Kericho County Assembly's e-voting system, saying the senators needed to confirm whether the threshold to impeach Governor Eric Mutai was attained. The senator will vote on the impeachment of the governor tomorrow, Friday.
